Join the WaitlistScentwork (also known as nosework or scent detection) taps into the one sense your dog was truly born to use. It’s mentally enriching, confidence-building, and genuinely fun — for dogs who need more stimulation than a daily walk can provide. Whether your dog is a bouncy adolescent or a senior who deserves a new hobby, scentwork gives them a purpose and a way to shine.
20 minutes of scentwork can tire a dog out as much as an hour-long walk. It's the most efficient way to burn mental energy and help your dog truly relax.
Dogs who are shy, nervous, or reactive often flourish in scentwork. It's an activity where they get to lead, problem-solve, and succeed — on their terms.
Young, old, energetic, or laid-back — every dog has an incredible nose. Scentwork works for all breeds, ages, and ability levels.
Scentwork is a true team activity. You learn to read your dog's signals, trust their instincts, and celebrate their wins together.

Yes, and it's often especially beneficial. Dogs work independently at their own station, so there's no direct dog-to-dog interaction. Many reactive dogs find it hugely calming.
Classes take place at the Pentland Scout Hall on Spylaw Street, Colinton, Edinburgh (EH13 0JT). It's a spacious indoor venue that works perfectly for scentwork.
